How do I start Creating drills?
Create Guide
1. Head to Create
Once you’re logged in, navigate to the Create page to start building your drill.
2. Choose Your Pitch
Select the pitch type that best fits your session setup.
3. Pick Your Drill Style – Static or Animated
Choose how you want to bring your session to life:
Static Drill – Create a single-frame drill to show one clear setup or moment.
Animated Drill – Build movement and progression with up to 12 frames.
💡 Top Tip: For animated drills, set up as much as possible in Frame 1, then add frames one at a time and move players or elements gradually to create the action — think of it like stop-motion animation. When you’re finished, hit Play to preview before saving.
4. Build Your Drill
Add players, cones, balls and other elements to the pitch. You can also customise team colours to match your session.
5. Fine Tune Your Design
Made a mistake? No problem. Use Undo, Redo, Delete Elements, or Reset All to keep everything looking exactly how you want it.
6. Complete Your Drill Details
Make sure all information sections are filled in before saving so your drill is ready to use and easy to find later.
7. Save to Your Library
Once you’re happy, select Save and your drill will be stored safely in Your Library.
8. Share to Touchline (Optional)
After saving, you’ll see the Share to Touchline option appear. This lets you publish your drill to the public Touchline area and inspire other Coaches.
Not ready yet? No problem — you can always share it later directly from Your Library.
9. Take It to Training
Need it pitch-side? Download your drill as an image or PDF and access it easily from your phone or tablet during sessions.
How do I find drills or create session plans in my Library?
Library Guide
1. Head to Your Library
Navigate to the Library page to access all your saved coaching content.
2. Explore Your Tabs – Drills & Sessions
Inside Library, you’ll see two tabs: Drills and Sessions.
By default, Drills is selected — this is where all your GameShape drills live.
3. Manage Your Drills
Click on any drill to open more options and keep your content moving:
View – Open and review your drill details
Copy – Create a duplicate and open it in Create ready to edit
Edit – Jump straight back into Create to make changes
Share to Touchline – Publish your drill to the community if you haven’t already
Delete – Remove drills… although are you really sure you want to do that? 😉
4. Start Building Sessions
At some point you’ll want to group drills together into complete training sessions.
The quickest way? Select Add to Session on any drill and GameShape will automatically create a new draft session and add your drill to it.
Scroll to the top of the page, complete the session details, and hit Save.
5. Work From the Sessions Tab
Select the Sessions tab to view all your saved sessions.
From here you can:
Open existing sessions
Create a brand-new session from scratch
Switch back to the Drills tab and add drills one by one to build your perfect session
6. Edit, Organise & Take It to Training
Sessions can be viewed, edited, reordered and deleted whenever you need.
⭐ Big Benefit: When your session is ready, hit the Print icon to open a clean, coach-friendly version. From there you can print it or save it as a PDF to your device — making it super easy to take straight onto the training ground with your phone or tablet.
What's the Touchline?
Discover. Save. Adapt. Share.
Touchline is GameShape’s public coaching feed — a place where coaches share drills they’ve chosen to Share to Touchline and inspire others.
Whether you’re looking for a quick warm-up idea, a full practice concept, or just want to see how other coaches approach the game, this is where ideas start.
1. Explore the Feed
Browse drills shared by coaches across the GameShape community and discover fresh ideas whenever you need them.
Use Filters to narrow results and find drills that match what you’re looking for.
2. Interact With Drills
Found something you like? You can:
View full drill details
Like drills that stand out
Save a Copy to Library to make it your own and extend later
Share with others
Comment and join the conversation
Get feedback on drills you’ve shared
🔒 Remember — you’ll need to be logged in to like, comment, delete your own or save drills.
3. Turn Inspiration Into Your Own Coaching Style
This is where Touchline becomes powerful.
You’re not starting from a blank pitch every time.
See a drill you like? Save it into your Library, open it in Create, tweak the setup, change progressions, add constraints, animate movement and make it your own.
⭐ Why Coaches Love Touchline
The best ideas in coaching rarely appear from scratch — they evolve. Touchline helps you discover proven ideas from other coaches and build on them in minutes instead of spending hours designing from zero.
Think of it as your always-on coaching notebook — full of ideas you can borrow, adapt and turn into sessions that fit your players.
